Rubik's Cube Challenge
On Thursday 27, 2014 students from Harris Bromley, Chobham , East Dulwich, Falconwood and Merton travelled to Harris City Academy Crystal Palace to compete in the Harris Rubik’s cube Challenge. Students competed in teams of five or six to solve the cube as fast as possible, lowest time wins.
Up for grabs for the winners were medals, a void cube prize and the winner’s trophy. The hall was full of competitors and timers all cubing away to secure a place in the final round. We were also lucky enough to have special guest Alex Lau, the third fastest cuber in the world, to offer tips and demonstrate his technique.
Ultimately Harris Crystal Palace placed first and third with East Dulwich boys taking home the silver medal. Everyone had a great time pitting themselves against the clock. The fastest time of the day was achieved by Arbri in year 7 solving the cube in 38 seconds! Thanks to all the staff and students who made this one of the best Federations events ever.
