26 February 2026Jack Petchey Celebration of Achievement EveningFollowing the presentation of their Jack Petchey Awards at the end-of-term Christmas assembly, our award recipients were invited to attend the prestigious Jack Petchey Celebration of Achievement Evening, held at Fairfield Halls on 21 January. The event was a truly memorable occasion, providing a wonderful opportunity to recognise and celebrate the exceptional achievements of young people in an inspiring and celebratory setting. The evening was thoroughly enjoyed by all in attendance and served as a fitting tribute to the hard work, dedication, and accomplishments of the award winners.

11 February 2026Year 7 & 8 Boys Shine at South London FinalsEarlier this term, the Year 7 and 8 boys Sportshall Athletics teams from Harris Crystal Palace proudly represented the school at the South London Finals held at Westcroft Leisure Centre. Competing against strong opposition from across the region, both teams delivered exceptional performances throughout the event. Their hard work, determination and team spirit paid off, with both the Year 7 and Year 8 squads finishing in the top three overall — an outstanding achievement. As a result of their success, both teams have now qualified for the London Youth Games finals later this term. This is a fantastic accomplishment and a testament to the commitment shown by the students in training and competition. We are incredibly proud of all the athletes who represented the school so positively and look forward to cheering them on at the finals. .

11 February 2026Top Quality Dance Workshop for Year 8The BRIT School, BRIT Kids, Rambert Company, Rambert School, Rambert Grades, and the Croydon Schools’ Dance Association (CSDA) have joined forces to launch a bold new pilot programme that aims to find, train, and elevate the next generation of diverse dance talent in Croydon. The initiative will offer high-quality dance training (with a number of scholarship places available) to selected students from local primary and secondary schools, with a core focus on access, inclusion, and opportunity for all. As part of this programme, 30 Year 8 students took part in a dance workshop on Tuesday 10th February at Harris City Academy Crystal Palace. The workshop was organised by Andrea Davis (Director of Dance at BRIT), Lucy Beadle (Rambert School - coordinator) and facilitated by Rambert School Dancers Jemima Sparrow and Luke Buckley. The students engaged with a series of technical warm ups and then learned a phrase of movement that led to a creative choreography task. The students thrived in the setting rising to the technical challenge of the movement content and the delivery of the inspiring facilitators. The workshop concluded with a discussion about Dance/Arts careers and pathways to achieve this. The organisers and facilitators commented on the students hard work ethic, creativity and dance ability. We are incredibly proud of our students and grateful that we had this opportunity.

This puts us in the top 1.9% of ALL schools nationally. This is the first time we have ever broke into the prestigious top 200 schools.
