Year 10 GCSE Media Students Film on Location at HCACP
Our Year 10 GCSE Media class have had the amazing opportunity to take part in a creative workshop this term.
Industry professionals working with Crystal Palace Community Trust came into the Academy to give students a taste of working in the audio-visual media.
Students got the opportunity to create their own one minute film using equipment and guidance from the industry professionals. Students were guided through the different stages of the pre-production process including:
- brainstorming initial ideas for a narrative
- script writing
- storyboarding
- and casting.
Equipped with professional camera equipment, students then found different locations to use around the Academy for their film. The groups were given a strict half an hour time limit and had to be back with footage on time. Students then took part in a group guided editing of their footage. It was great to see their creative initial ideas come to fruition in a finished product.
Thank you to Alex, Angel and Elaine from the Crystal Palace Community Trust for sharing their expertise with our students. We are looking forward to next week where the groups can screen their films to the class and gather feedback; which they will use to produce a second improved film at the end of this term.
