Harris Experience trip to Imperial College London
On Wednesday 20th of May, Year 9 Harris Experience students visited Imperial College London as part of the federation's more able students programme. They were treated to a fascinating show from Neil Monteiro, a Physicist and performer, on how science interacts with our everyday lives. They then experienced outreach talks from Dr Billy Wu on green engineering and Imperial's extra-curricular programmes, from Dr Jenna Stevens-Smith on Bioengineering and from Jose Teixeria Monteiro, a member of Imperial's outreach department.
Students were introduced to the brilliance and fascination of university-level science and offered a range of opportunities for the future. They finished the day with a tour of Imperial's South Kensington campus.
It was an enlightening and enriching day and left many of our young scientists looking forward to more.
