French students visit HCACP
On Thursday 1st May, Harris City Academy Crystal Palace opened its doors to 49 students from a school in France as a part of their trip to London. To really experience life in an English school, the French students observed a variety of lessons across different key stages and subject areas. A number of 6th Form students gave the French students a tour around the Academy before joining all A-level French students in the assembly hall for a ‘rendezvous’. During this meeting, we did a number of activities and games, such as speed dating where we taught one another about life at our respective schools. The only catch was that we had to speak our non-native language, providing us with an excellent opportunity to practise our language skills. After the morning's activities we swapped contact details so that we can maintain contact and keep practising our language skills.
We hope that our schools can remain in contact and that this sort of event will happen again in the future.
