Sociology
We believe studying Sociology will allow students to develop a deeper knowledge and understanding of society through critically examining the ways of life and looking at them through a Sociological framework.
The Sociology curriculum aims to develop critical thinkers, allowing students to interact with and gain a greater understanding of key Sociological thinkers and concepts and their relevance in a modern society. Throughout the course students will be referred to as sociologists. Students will have the opportunity to develop a range of knowledge and skills, including literacy, numeracy, evaluation and application.
Students are encouraged to use and apply their knowledge to understand new and unfamiliar concepts. A wide range of activities as well as the provision of educational visits provides access to a wealth of knowledge and information, which enables all students to have access to the curriculum and make progress.
